Abstract

Service Function Chaining For Low-Latency Guarantees

The adoption of NFV and SDN allows network infrastructure operator flexibly orchestrating resources to provide tenants with their own virtual network. However, computing and network resource management APIs are rarely disclosed to tenants for security and performance reasons. This may severely limit tenants' capability in coping with demands of application-tailored network services, including Service Function Chaining (SFC).

This presentation will report on the SFCLola experiment in 5GINFIRE and the related experience in the development and testing of a tenant-managed SFC platform providing tenants with a latency-aware SFC management while minimizing support required from infrastructure operators in a multi-DC environment.
