As a part of the Future Internet Public Private Partnership (FI-PPP) initiative's projects FI-WARE, XIFI, and FI-STAR the German Future Internet Node has been brought into operations on November 28th. It has proven readiness to host first Future Internet and Smart City applications during the 4th FOKUS FUSECO Forum.

Jointly operated by Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, Fraunhofer FOKUS, and TU Berlin AV bringing the node ino operation marks an important leap towards providing a versatile cloud-based infrastructure that supports Future Internet services development, experimentation, testing and pre-product evaluation. Offered in particular to SMEs, Start-ups and companies in the Berlin/Brandenburg area that are active or interested in the Future Internet business, this powerful infrastructure is capable to reduce the time-to-market for innovative Smart City applications based on a state of the art ICT infrastructure.
