Social TV extends the television experience beyond just watching with parallel social media activities and content sharing using mobile devices. Its core is based on Media Web Runtime and webinos. Various use cases involving social network services, TV and multi-screen interaction were realized as part of a Social TV research project. For example one use case allows users to comment on video scenes using a smartphone or tablet. The Social TV platform shares this user generated content with the community and hereby enables social TV interaction regardless of time and location.
