The competence center NGNI (Next Generation Network Infrastructures) at Fraunhofer FOKUS presented in collaboration with NTT Service Evolution Laboratories the final project results of a Real-Time Communication (RTC) service architecture project. The platform developed during the project allows the convergence of real-time services of multiple media types from different sources over audio/video RTC. For example, it allows map services or user input to be shared among multiple users and integrated with audio/video RTC. Front-ends for user interaction have been provided for clients based on a RCS (Rich Communication Suite) stack running under Android OS and WebRTC (Web Real Time Communication) for Google's Chrome browser. The infrastructure for realizing RTC services is deployed in an elastic cloud environment, which can scale the RTC service cluster dynamically.
