European Alliance for Innovation

News from May 12, 2014

Fraunhofer FOKUS has signed a cooperation agreement with the European innovation network "European Alliance for Innovation (EAI)" and is now the official representative of the EAI in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The cooperation aims to strengthen the ability to innovate in Germany and Europe and facilitate the transfer of ideas into the market.

The EAI was founded to support companies in all stages of development with Web tools, coaching workshops and an innovation network. The EAI is managed by leading experts from politics, industry, science and education and has partners in over 30 countries worldwide. With its research group Public Innovation Management Fraunhofer FOKUS brings expertise in commercialization strategies and IT know-how into the partnership.

Fraunhofer FOKUS and EAI will organize the IOT360-Summit, an international conference on innovation in the Internet of things, which will take place from 28th to 30th October 2014 in Rome. The Internet of things is supposed to generate 1.9 Trillion Dollars in 2020, but new approaches to strengthen innovation are required to reach this estimate. The conference is organized to encourage international experts presenting their positions in lectures and discussions and debate and furthermore identify possible approaches. Furthermore FOKUS and EAI plan to develop their own innovation platform Inno360. The platform aims to connect founders with investors, experts and mentors and to facilitate the establishment of successful startups.
