Think Future Now – Political Dinner Debate on "Information and Communication Technology 2025"

On June 12, the Fraunhofer Network for Information and Communication Technology (Fraunhofer IuK) and the Initiative D21 invited to a political dinner debate in Berlin. Along the title "Think Future Now – Information and Communication Technology 2025", representatives from administration and parliament, business and research were discussing about forward-looking regulation through policy, the work of the Enquete Commission for "Internet and Society" and the responsibilities of stakeholders in business and research in the information society.

Fraunhofer FOKUS presented an exhibit from the field of Smart Traffic Management. Dr. Ilja Radusch, Head of Competence Center "Automotive Services and Communication Technologies" ASCT, demonstrated trends and developments in the field of vehicle-to-X-communication. Together they discussed the course to be made now in order to support Germany as an outstanding location for innovation.

For the debate on the podium were: Prof. Dr. Dieter Spath of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO, Hannes Schwaderer (President of D21 e.V. and CEO of Intel GmbH), Burckhardt Bonello (CEO Found Fair Ventures), Jimmy Schulz (FDP, Member of the Bundestag and a member of the Enquete Commission on "Internet and Society"), Constanze Kurz (speaker of the Chaos Computer Club). The evening was hosted by Christian Stöcker (Spiegel Online).
