Florian Schreiner (PhD) is the director of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) group within the department for Next Generation Network Infrastructures (NGNI) at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS), one of Europe’s globally most recognized research centers for information and communication technologies (ICT). He is responsible for the management of industry partnerships, the coordination of R&D projects and the operation of IoT test and development centers. He received his electrical engineering diploma and his PhD from the Technical University of Berlin. His major areas of expertise are Internet of Things, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Communication and M2M Platforms, Cloud, mobile Edge and Fog computing, Software-defined Networking and Industrial Internet / Industry 4.0. He has been highly active in major European Future Internet programs, where he contributed to several Future Internet Research and Experimentation (FIRE) projects and Future Internet Public Private Partnership (FI-PPP) projects. Florian is the author of several research papers and journals and frequently presents latest achievements at national and international conferences.
